Although I don't usually wish people ill-will, the times that I have tend to make me feel worse than better. I really do believe that it's easier to love than to hate. If people knew better, they would do better. When they do wrong it's because they don't know better; they don't know how to show tolerance, acceptance, and love. That's what I think. Nice entry. It really makes one think. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. You are a stellar writer and you always have good things to say! :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7233413034415992317.post-24975834491404596582009-11-20T09:14:12.952-06:002009-11-20T09:14:12.952-06:00Laura,

But then I thought that might be a slippery slope and run the danger of actively wishing someone ill

Yes, it is hard to about the Schadenfreude, especially when one is the "victim" of someone else's behavior.

Thanks for your comment!Gabriel Conroyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17566193099628849226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7233413034415992317.post-6053158421420113832009-11-19T21:14:12.956-06:002009-11-19T21:14:12.956-06:00I know exactly what you mean.
Sometimes I remind ...I know exactly what you mean.

Sometimes I remind myself that whoever-it-is that I am tempted to wish ill to, was made in the image of God, and Jesus shed his blood for him. That jerks me up straight.

It's hard sometimes to avoid the schadenfreude, though, when people flout both the law and decent standards of behavior, and finally get their comeuppance.Laura(southernxyl)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02880277733341078157noreply@blogger.com
